Mark Zuckerberg: Is he REALLY evil?

with one comment

The most powerful man in the internet isn’t Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. It’s the guy who controls our social interaction: Mark Zuckerberg.

Recently the Harvard graduate has caught some flack regarding Facebook’s privacy issues, but Ryan Tate provides an interesting look (with a large part dealing with David Kirkpatrick’s upcoming profile on MZ) at the 20-something year old gazillionaire who allows me to have over 500 friends of whom I talk to 20.

24-year old wins $1M for throwing a perfect game– on MLB 2K10!!!

Less than 90 minutes after bringing the game home after work, Wade McGilberry threw a perfect game using Braves pitcher Kenshin Kawakami and scored a cool $1 million dollars courtesy of 2K Sports.

The company had offered the prize to the first person to score a perfect game. It was supposed to be a difficult feat, but McGilberry accomplished it within 24 hours of the game’s release.

A million dollars. I’m pretty sure a series of ‘WTH’s’ are in order.

If you don’t use a Blackberry, you don’t need to care about this. If you do use a Blackberry, this is why your Gmail just got better.

Boy Scouts now offering Video Game Badge

leave a comment »

The Boy Scouts of America is now offering badges for video games to Tiger, Cub and Webelos.

It makes a little more sense when you read the requirements for earning a badge. You can earn either a Belt Loop or Academics Pin by performing tasks such as explaining why a ratings system for videos games is important.

This might sound stupid considering the fact that the BSA is supposed to promote outdoor activities for kids, but they actually promote the BSA’s core principle of being boring.

Expand your laptop power brick to juice up more crap you dont need

leave a comment »

If you’ve ever found yourself at a Starbucks without an open outlet in site, this is what you need. Its an adapter that you add to any power brick that’ll yield two additional outlets to power other useless things.

Sure you can carry around a multi-tap, but you wouldn’t want to look ridiculous now, would you?

Brees on Madden NFL 11

“Here’s what I have to say about the Madden curse: Destiny is more powerful than a curse. Whatever is meant to be will happen. Faith.”

-Drew Brees

I don’t care. He’s still a rat bastard. Jets all the way, baby.

Hulu to offer Hulu Plus for $9.95/month

leave a comment »

Hulu will soon test out a new premium service that will allow subscribers access to a deeper archive of episodes for its roster of TV shows. The new service would cost users $9.95/month and would potentially allow users to access any previous episode of a series (currently, most shows limit viewers to the last 5).

Hulu is under pressure to increase revenue as networks have begun to pull episodes from its archives. Also, ad revenue has not been as lucrative as it has been in the past.

I think this concept SHOULD work. I’d much rather pay a monthly subscription than keep purchasing boxed dvd sets of shows that I’ll never watch again. However, Hulu should probably price the service a little more aggressively since it would be in direct competition with Netflix instant view.
