There are leaders and then there are those who lead

I’m definitely a TED-whore, but honestly, too much TED can make you disenchanted to anything inspirational or revolutionary. However, once in a while, you find a gem that changes your worldview entirely.

Simon Sinek talks about how great leaders inspire action.

iPad account for 0.03% of all web traffic in its first week

This is pretty sick. 0.03% is a small number, but think about how much web traffic there is in the WORLD. One small gadget creating all that buzz? insane.

iPhone OS 4.0 unveiled

leave a comment »

Apple unveiled their much-hyped iPhone OS 4.0 operating system today. The new OS will include long-awaited features such as multi-tasking for third party applications, camera improvements (5x digital zoom & touch to focus video), and other add-ons.

Apple has only released a dev kit for the new OS and will ship out to iPhone/iPod touch customer in the summer with iPad customers following in the fall. However, 1st/2nd gen Touch owners as well as pre-3GS iPhone owners will be sad to hear that features like multi-tasking will not be available if they choose to upgrade. boohoo.

Will it blend?

with one comment

All these iPad smashing videos are getting ridiculous. But this one is actually kind of creative. Don’t worry. It only takes 2 minutes of your precious time.

Lessons learned:

  • DON’T drop the iPad
  • DON’T put the iPad underwater
  • DON’T scratch the back of the iPad
  • DO scratch the glass of the iPad if you so desire.

Price Anchoring, the iPad, and why we’re all fools

leave a comment »

Mint.com has an interesting article on price anchoring and how it applies to the iPad. In short, price anchoring is showing an inflated price and then announcing a lower price. In the iPad’s instance, Steve Jobs stated that the iPad was rumored to be $1000, but when he announces the price of $499, you think you’re getting a deal.

Apparently, we’re all susceptible to it and the smarter you are about pricing, the easier you fall prey to it.

Apple to hold iPhone OS event on Thursday

leave a comment »

A little late on the news, but the Vicious Blog was a little slow yesterday. Apple is going to be holding an even on Thursday at 10:00AM PT/ 1:00PM ET to show a “sneak peak of the next generation of iPhone OS software.”

From what sammyVicious can gather from the rumor mill, it looks like the new OS is going to focus mostly on the new iPad, but this event should be interesting enough. I mean, its Apple.
