Google has changed its name to Topeka

leave a comment »

In response to the Kansas city’s innocent attempt to win favor from the search giant, Google has now changed it’s company’s name to Topeka. In an entertaining editorial on the company blog, Google CEO Eric Schmidt detailed how the change would affect the company’s corporate goals and how its branding would be affected.

I doubt this change is going to last for too long. Likely just a day. Google is way too important to make this practical joke last a second past April Fools day.

Google aint talking about Youtube outage this morning

Youtube was down for an hour this morning from 7AM to 8AM ET. It wouldn’t be such a big deal if it wasn’t for Google’s decision to remove any censorship for users in China, which goes against the nation’s policy.

The video site is back up now, but don’t be surprised if you hear more about this in the coming days.

Google Calendar rescheduler

leave a comment »

If you’re one of those people who uses Google Calendar to run your life, this is definitely handy. Last week, Google announced the Smart Rescheduler which suggests a future time/date to reschedule a meeting. The function must be enabled in the Google Labs settings. This just another function that is available on Microsoft Outlook that the company is making available to Google users.

If you don’t use Google Calendar, you probably don’t care about this.
