New Salt trailer

Angelina Jolie as the female Jason Bourne

Not that I think this film is going to be any great, but I know a few people who had minor roles so I feel somewhat invested in it.

From Busto To Robusto

From Busto to Robusto is an interesting documentary series that highlights the lives of professional poker players. Two episodes have been posted so far and its incredibly interesting to see how varied their lives can be. Whether you like poker or not, this is probably worth a watch.

Waking Sleeping Beauty

Long-time Disney producer Don Hahn takes a behind-the-scenes look at the rise and fall and rise again of Disney’s animated feature films. After making its rounds in the festival circuit since the end of 2009, Waking Sleeping Beauty premieres at Landmark Sunshine Cinema this weekend.

No, I have not seen this yet, but it sounds very interesting. I just wished they didn’t use “voice of God” for the trailer.

The Human Torch is Captain America?!?!??

Chris Evans, the guy who played The Human Torch, in the Fantastic Four movies has been slated to play Captain America.

I have no idea how he’ll do, but its just damn confusing if they ever do a Marvel Civil War movie. He’s gotta play two characters.

Fandango joining in on the barcode movement

Now you can go paperless with your movie tickets. Just buy your ticket online and then bam, a barcode is going to be sent to your phone via sms or mms.  This is just another addition to companies like United Airlines offering paperless check-in for flights in an effort to expedite services.

The system is in a limited rollout for now, but should expand to more theaters soon. It is currently available at:

  • New York: City Cinemas 1, 2 & 3, Angelika Film Center, East 86th Street Cinemas, Village East Cinema, Beekman Theatre, The Paris Theatre.
  • New Jersey: Manville 12 Plex.
  • Houston: Angelika Film Center.
  • Dallas/Plano: Angelika Dallas; Angelika Plano.
  • San Diego: La Mesa Grossmont Center, Clairemont Town Square Stadium.
  • Bakersfield: Valley Plaza 16.
  • Sonoma County: Rohnert Park 16.
  • Hawaii: Ward Stadium, Kahala Theater, Kapolei 16, Mililani Stadium.

82nd Annual Academy Awards Winners

leave a comment »

As an aspiring filmmaker, I’m sure I should be more interested in the Academy Awards than I actually am, but I just don’t care anymore. The good movies dont get picked (yeah, I’m still pissed about the Dark Knight) and the system is flawed (having 10 nominees doesn’t fix anything). And it’s all too political.

I didn’t even think Hurt Locker was all that good.

Best Actress in a Lead Role – Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side)
Best Actor in a Lead Role – Jeff Bridges (Crazy Heart)
