Why the NFL hates smart people

with one comment

Myron Rolle was a freshman All-American safety at Florida State University and his defensive coordinator said that he played the most complete game any safety has ever played at FSU in his 25 years of coaching.

How much does the NFL like an athlete of his caliber? They like him enough to pick him in the 6th round.

Why so low you ask? He’s too smart. Clay Travis explains it pretty well.

Brees on Madden NFL 11

“Here’s what I have to say about the Madden curse: Destiny is more powerful than a curse. Whatever is meant to be will happen. Faith.”

-Drew Brees

I don’t care. He’s still a rat bastard. Jets all the way, baby.

NFL Schedule to be released on Tuesday

leave a comment »

The NFL is going to announce their regular season schedule on Tuesday at 7PM ET.

The list of games is already set, so each team knows who they’ll be playing this season, but the schedule of the games won’t be announced until next week. This is also big news since that means tickets go on sale after this. (NOTE: Jets and Giants do no sell individual game tickets. You MUST go through a third party retailer such as Stubhub)

The New York Jets will receive wide receiver Santonio Holmes for a 5th round pick in this month’s NFL Draft.

There’s lots of crap about Holmes being hard to deal with, and he is facing a possible 4-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, but whatever.

My boy was a Super Bowl MVP.

The Jets are going to the Super Bowl. That’s it. no more questions.

Jason Taylor visits the NY Jets

leave a comment »

Miami Dolphins free agent DE Jason Taylor is in NY speaking with the Jets about a possible move to Gang Green.

The Jets haven’t expressed interest before, since they were capped by the rules of the uncapped season. Under the previous collective bargaining agreement, a team that played in a Conference Championship game will only be able to sign a free agent if they lose one. Last week, the Arizona Cardinals signed Jets kicker Jay Feely.

Jason Taylor is a highly-decorated defensive end and played most of his career with the Dolphins, except for a one year stint with the Washington Redskins two seasons ago. The New England Patriots have expressed interest in him as well as the Dolphins who wish to re-sign him.

McNabb shipped to the Redskins

with 2 comments

Donovan McNabb has been traded to the Washington Redskins for a 2nd round pick this year and a 4th round pick in 2011 with a possibility of being upgraded to a 3rd.

I love the Eagles’ strategy. You’re the 3rd best team in your division, so you trade away your franchise QB to the 4th best team. Andy Reid is a genius. They would have been better off waiving him. sammyVicious GUARANTEES that the Eagles will NOT make the playoffs for at least 2 seasons.
